Statement:

"At this stage in my career and as promised for some years, I have decided to place the entire contents of the “Blackbird log” into the public record now. The reason I ever accepted to retain the secrets was because of loyalties to senior people in the BBC and army and also the fear of what would happen during the operation if I did not. The military implications also existed because of the separate operations they were involved in – one top secret, hence the ‘D’ notice (Note 1) that was imposed on all media outlets from Westbury ( site of Blackbird) for a period of two hours on one occasion".
